By using BeU ("BeU", "we") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
What BeU is
BeU gives cosmetic and styling suggestions (face shape, colors, hair, makeup, skincare, style and nails) from photos you take or upload. Results are estimates from computer vision and AI. They can be wrong, and lighting, camera quality and filters affect them.
Not medical advice
BeU is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. Skin results describe what is visible in a photo and are not a diagnosis. Patch-test new products, follow product directions, and see a dermatologist or doctor about any skin concern.
Your account
You must be at least 18. Keep your sign-in email secure; you are responsible for activity on your account. Only scan yourself, or people who have agreed to be scanned.
Membership and billing
- Membership costs $9.99 per month or $89.99 per year, plus any applicable tax, billed through Stripe. On iPhone and iPad, memberships and purchases are billed through Apple via the App Store (not Stripe) - manage or cancel those in your Apple ID subscription settings. It renews automatically each month or each year (the plan you chose) until you cancel.
- Membership includes 3 AI scans per calendar month (a face, nail or hair scan each counts as one; a scan that fails or can't read the photo doesn't count). Unused scans don't carry over. After that you can buy an extra scan for $2.99 each (plus any tax) — a one-time charge, non-refundable once the scan is used; unused extra scans stay on your account.
- Your first charge happens when you join, and each renewal is charged on the same date of the next month or year.
- Cancel any time from Account → "Manage or cancel". Cancellation stops future charges; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Payments are non-refundable except where required by law.
- AI scans have a daily fair-use limit. We may change prices with advance notice; changes apply from your next billing period.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service: no scanning others without consent, no attempts to break, overload, reverse-engineer or resell it, and no unlawful use.
Content and product links
You keep rights to your photos. You let us process them only to provide your results. Product suggestions are for convenience; we do not make or guarantee third-party products, and prices and availability change.
Intellectual property
BeU - its name, logo, software, design, and content - is owned by Shears. Your membership gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer it. You keep all rights to your own photos and content.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Ending use
You can stop using BeU and delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
Changes
We may update these terms. We will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app. Continuing to use BeU means you accept the updated terms.
